Environmental technology and fiber reinforced composite materials: disposal and recycling of waste containing carbon fiber residues
In October 2016 the Environmental Technology Cluster of Bavaria and the Leading-Edge Cluster MAI Carbon, an initiative of the Carbon Composites e.V. (CCeV), started a cross-cluster project on the topic of disposal and recycling of waste containing carbon fiber residues. The project aims to identify and further develop intelligent and sustainable solutions for the disposal and recycling of waste containing carbon fiber residues. A sustainable basis should be created which sets processes in motion over the course of the project, with the intention of further developing recycling of fiber reinforced composite materials and anchoring this in Bavaria.
- Technology development
In the first step, problems will be collated, framework conditions will be created and ideas for solution approaches and R&D plans will be outlined.
- Development of a competence atlas
The competence atlas will enable companies to visualise and quickly find potential business and project partners.
- Integration of political decision makers
As soon as the technological possibilities and potentials have been worked out, the political decision makers will be involved. Workshops will be used for discussing the existing legal frameworks and adjustments, when necessary.
- Public relations
The project results will be edited and made accessible to the general public.
