Since July 2016, the Munich-Augsburg-Ingolstadt region has been running the three-year 'MAI Job project'. The JOBSTARTER plus project is being supported by half a million euros of funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the European Social Fund (ESF) and is realised by the Leading-Edge Cluster MAI Carbon from Carbon Composites e.V. (CCeV). MAI Job is on-site in Augsburg for the occasion of the fitforJOB! educational fair.
MAI Job addresses the challenge faced by small and medium sized companies in living up to the larger concerns (OEMs) on the educational market, and in representing their specific competence profiles. On the one hand small and medium sized companies frequently do not have the visibility to step out of the shadow of OEMs and present themselves to potential trainees – this problem is being tackled by the project with a number of concepts. On the other hand, adaptations to the education portfolio or support services are required when small and medium sized companies set up an own educational offering.
Matching on own online platform
For this reason, MAI Job wishes to carry out an analysis of requirements in order to create solution concepts specifically for small and medium sized companies. With “Carbon Connected", there is already an online platform which can be used to potentially match small and medium sized companies to trainees. In addition, close networking and the direct inclusion of chambers, agencies and other educational institutes is planned. MAI Job is accompanied by a marketing campaign which incorporates both traditional communication methods as well as Social Media channels.
Careers information fair fitforJOB!
Further, the project is to be presented effectively to the public at events as well as enabling small and medium sized companies opportunities to individually present themselves. The launch is at the careers information fair fitforJOB! held in Augsburg. This is an optimum platform to find out more, at first hand, about careers. The 17th fitforJOB! will be held on March 18, 2017 at Messe Augsburg.
Perpetuation after the project ends
The measures are to be continued after the project comes to an end in mid-2019, enabling small and medium sized companies to independently and, on their own initiative, approach the topic of education. It is also planned to make use of additional multipliers and expand the structures created by the project Mai Job for other networks, for example, the departments of CCeV.
