The JobGate fair is a biannual recruiting event for training and dual studies and takes place for the first time at the Künstlerhaus at Lenbachplatz in Munich. At school, prior to the event, pupils are able to select the educational paths they are interested in as introduced by educational agency teams. Last month, they were then invited to attend tailored interviews with training managers and personnel managers at the JobGate trade fair in Munich. In the arranged meetings, the youngsters had 10 minutes to present themselves with their full application documentation and to make a name for themselves. This speed-dating-style opportunity offers those attending the ability to get to know a large number of young people in a short time and to pre-select potential trainees.
The MAI Job team took part for the first time and received more than 60 registrations for introductions into careers such as cutting machine operator, aviation mechanic or procedural mechanic for plastic and rubber technologies in fibre composites. Applications were accepted on the spot, or received later and will now be passed on to the appropriate member companies. In doing so, MAI Job supports the network of CCeV. Katharina Lechler and Sven Blanck of MAI Job are in agreement: "We were overwhelmed by the inquiries and individual meetings. An extremely well-organised event. Now we hope to bring together pupils and companies for trainee positions in the Carbon sector."
MAI Job, a JOBSTARTER plus project from the Leading-Edge Cluster MAI Carbon of Carbon Composites e.V. (CCeV), is promoted using funds from the Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung (German Federal Ministry of Education and Research) and the European Social Fund (ESF). The program is implemented by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training.
