In the Deutsches Museum runs a special exhibition entitled “Hard Stuff: Carbon – the material of the future”since May 16th, 2014. It shows the possibilities inherent in this material on about 300 square meters in the area of Zentrums Neue Technologien (ZNT) (Centre of New Technologies) of the Deutsches Museum in Munich. Due to the great success, the exhibition has been extended until August 7th, 2015.
About 80.000 enthusiasts have visited the special exhibition "Hard material: Carbon - the material of the future" so far. Now they know with which methods carbon fibers are processed and in which areas carbon is already used - from the automotive industry to the engineering to aerospace. A look into the future presents objects in which carbon can be used in future. Some exhibits donors include Airbus Helicopters, BMW, Diamo Violins,, Krauss Maffei, MT Aerospace, Munich Composites, Otto Bock Orthopädie, Premium Aerotec, SGL Carbon, Streifeneder and Voith Composites.
We are pleased that with the exhibition on Carbon we obviously have our fingers on the puls of the time, "said museum director Prof. Wolfgang M. Heckl. For the Deutsches Museum, the very great interest of visitors is an opportunity to extend the exhibition until August 7th, 2015.
